Drawing inspiration from Bicep, Four Tet, Floating Points, Ejeca, Bonobo and etc., Future IDM is a collection of samples that is comprised of modern elements that is geared for house, deep house, tech house, techno, melodic techno, electro and any other dance sub-genre. Future IDM includes rave-ready rhythms, deep basses, ethereal textures and atmospheres, melodic arps and digital EFX in many ways that inspire the user. It comes in WAV files, as well as instrument patches for software samplers such as EXS24, Kong, Kontakt and NN-XT. The SFZ format is also being supported. This library weighs in at 951 MB, with tempos ranging from 120 to 130 BPM, and the audio content recorded at 44.1 kHz/ 24 bit rate. Future IDM is unique from other IDM packs that I’ve reviewed in the past – not in a negative way, but it’s more melodic than the conventional IDM that I’m used to. This is really a tool for dance music concepts, but I would’ve love if there was more leftfield content, especially in the rhythm folder. One small gripe is that some of the samples have apparent noise. Overall, a great tool to optimize your dance-centric tracks.
